Biography

Dr. Manish Agaskar is a caring and dedicated doctor who brings warmth, expertise, and a genuine passion for helping others to his practice. With over 30 years of medical experience, Dr. Agaskar’s journey began in India, where he earned his MBBS in 1989, followed by an M.S. in General Surgery (1994) and an M.Ch. in Cardiothoracic Surgery (1998). He’s worked as Cardiothoracic Surgery Registrar at Geelong Hospital and Waikato Hospital, New Zealand from 1999 to 2003, and as a Fellow in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, in 2004.

In 2005, Dr. Agaskar transitioned to emergency medicine, working at Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital, and Werribee Hospital. Since 2007, he’s been a beloved family General Practitioner in Warragul, Victoria, earning his FRACGP in 2012. He takes pride in building lasting relationships with patients, offering compassionate care for complex medical and surgical needs.

Beyond medicine, Dr. Manish is a gifted musician with a deep love for Indian Classical music. As a Sitar, Surbahar, and Veena player, and Dhrupad vocalist, he co-founded the Melbourne Hindustani Classical Music Society, organizing over 150 concerts, including an annual international festival that celebrates cultural connection.
